In the early morning hours of Sunday, June 28, 2020, the body of a 29-year-old Black / African American man, Joel Price of Oyster Bay, New York, was discovered in a parking lot in New Haven, Connecticut. The discovery was made behind a business located near 301 Sargent Drive at approximately 6:20 a.m. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following a report of an unresponsive person.
