On July 4, 2015, the body of Edward A. Brooks, a 39-year-old resident of West Haven, Connecticut, was discovered in a wooded area of West Rock Ridge State Park in Hamden. Responding to reports of an explosion, law enforcement found Brooks' remains wrapped in plastic garbage bags, bound with rope, and showing signs of three gunshot wounds. Nearby, remnants of an explosive device were located, indicating an attempt to destroy evidence.
