On the evening of May 19, 2021, 18-year-old Tashawn Brown was fatally shot near Edgewood Park in New Haven, Connecticut. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard, between Edgewood Avenue and Stanley Street. Brown's mother, Latasha Brown, was present at a family cookout in the park when the gunfire erupted.
