On a summer morning in Hartford, Connecticut, the life of a 35-year-old Black / African American man, Desmond Wray, was tragically cut short. On July 29, 2021, at approximately 11:31 a.m., the city's ShotSpotter system alerted police to gunfire near the intersection of Greenfield and Enfield streets. Responding officers arrived to find evidence of a shooting but no victim.
