On February 7, 2022, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Hartford police responded to a distress call from an apartment on Evergreen Avenue. Inside, they discovered two women in their 20s who had been shot while asleep. Allison McCoy, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second woman, her girlfriend, was found with gunshot wounds to the back of her head and arm. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
