On May 16, 2022, at approximately 11:20 p.m., 18-year-old Anthony Strother was fatally shot on South Genesee Street in New Haven, Connecticut. Officers responded to reports of a shooting between East Ramsdell Street and Harper Avenue, where they found Strother suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
