In the early hours of a Tuesday morning, on December 8, 2015, the life of 19-year-old Jonathan Aranda, a Black male, was tragically cut short in New Haven, Connecticut. Police were called to 14 Clinton Avenue at approximately 1:07 a.m. following reports of a shooting. There, in the backyard of the residence, they found Aranda in cardiac arrest, having sustained a gunshot wound to his chest. He was rushed to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about half an hour later.
