In the early hours of a June morning in Forrest City, Arkansas, a dedicated police officer's life was tragically cut short. Lewis D. Jones, Jr., a 34-year-old man serving as a Patrol Officer with the Forrest City Police Department, was working an off-duty security assignment at the Players Palace nightclub on Turner Avenue.
