In the early morning hours in the small community of Rosebud, Arkansas, a domestic disturbance escalated to a fatal conclusion. Forty-year-old Michael Hammond, a male resident, was tragically killed in a shooting that also left a woman wounded. The incident unfolded within the home that Hammond shared with the injured woman and her husband.
Authorities were called to the residence at approximately 2:45 a.m., where they discovered both Hammond and the woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Hammond was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead. The female victim was also hospitalized for her injuries.
The White County Sheriff's Office quickly identified the woman's husband as the suspect in the shooting. He was taken into custody in connection with the violent events that transpired. Investigators have characterized the shooting as the result of a domestic disturbance. The suspect was subsequently held on a $150,000 bond, facing anticipated charges of first-degree murder for the death of Michael Hammond and first-degree battery for the injuries sustained by his wife.
