Steven Harris was a 33-year-old man living in a south Phoenix townhome with his wife and their two small children when an ordinary Monday evening in December 2014 turned into a nightmare. The family was settled in for the night, the children upstairs with their mother while Harris remained on the first floor of the home. The scene, familiar and domestic, was shattered by gunfire that echoed through the townhouse, separating the life they had known into a clear before and after.
