In the early morning hours of March 10, 2024, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, a gathering at a private party turned into a scene of violence that resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including 24-year-old Dwight Starks. The male victim was a Black/African American. The incident, which took place near the city's downtown area, also left several other people with injuries.
Initial reports from the Jonesboro Police Department identified Starks as one of the victims in the fatal shooting.
However, as the investigation progressed, law enforcement officials clarified that Starks was also the suspected shooter in the tragic event. The violence is believed to have stemmed from a domestic argument between another individual, Tarail Moody, and a woman at the party.
The altercation escalated, tragically drawing in bystanders. Starks and another individual, Amari Giles, were acquaintances of Moody. Both Starks and Giles succumbed to gunshot wounds during the incident. The suspected instigator of the initial dispute, 32-year-old Tarail Moody, also died at the scene from a single gunshot wound. Dwight Starks was known by several nicknames, including 'Big Ole Bo,' 'Kylon,' and was affectionately called 'Edward' by his grandmother.
