In the winter of 2016, just days after being released from prison, 42-year-old Larry Bernard Williams II, a Black male, was found dead in his Little Rock, Arkansas home. On the morning of February 26, a friend named Malik Mumit grew concerned when he couldn't reach Williams. He had visited Williams at his residence at 1207 E. 28th Street the evening before and left after the nightly news. When his calls and messages went unanswered the next day, Mumit drove to the house to check on him.
