In the winter of 2016, a tragic event unfolded in Little Rock, Arkansas, cutting short the life of 25-year-old Alex Ward. On the final day of January, police were called to a yard on Baltimore Street where they discovered Ward, a male, who had been shot multiple times.
For months, the case remained unsolved, leaving a void in the lives of his loved ones.
In an effort to bring justice for Alex, his family offered a $5,000 reward for information that would lead to the arrest of the person responsible for his death. The community's help was sought to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting in the city's south side.
In late June of that same year, a breakthrough came in the investigation. Authorities arrested 26-year-old Cherard Harriott in connection with the homicide. Harriott was subsequently charged with capital murder and held without bond for his alleged role in the shooting death of Alex Ward.
