On a summer evening in Little Rock, Arkansas, the life of 18-year-old Tyler Terrell was tragically cut short. The Black male had recently graduated from Joe T. Robinson High School with a 3.0 GPA and was known by his loved ones as a 'gentle giant' who had a passion for football and a great sense of humor. On June 5, 2020, at approximately 7:22 p.m., Terrell was driving on North Shackleford Road when shots were fired into his vehicle.
Terrell was struck by the gunfire and was transported
to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Another individual in the vehicle with Terrell was also wounded in the shooting and received treatment at a hospital. Following the shooting, the vehicle Terrell was driving crashed into another car at a nearby car dealership. The dealership's building was also hit by gunfire, though no one inside was injured.
In the wake of the shooting, the Little Rock Police Department began an investigation, collecting evidence from the scene. Terrell's body was sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab for an autopsy. Despite the ongoing investigation and appeals to the public for information, no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. Details regarding a motive or any potential suspects have not been released by the authorities. Terrell's family has expressed their profound grief and frustration over the lack of answers in his death.
