On June 5, 2024, a tragic shooting occurred in the parking lot of The Summit at Town and Country apartments, located at 7700 N. Chicot Road in Little Rock, Arkansas. The incident resulted in the death of 17-year-old Darrien Matthews, who succumbed to gunshot wounds inflicted around 7:49 p.m. Two other individuals were also injured in the shooting: another 17-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, and 18-year-old Brian Williams of Little Rock.
