In the autumn of 2017, the life of 38-year-old Nashae Williams was tragically cut short in her Forrest City, Arkansas home. On the night of Wednesday, October 18, 2017, a dispute escalated to violence, leaving Williams and two of her young daughters deceased from gunshot wounds. The children were identified as 9-year-old Malayya Williams Issah and 6-year-old Zanasia Williams.
The following morning, Cordale Stacy, who was described as Williams' live-in boyfriend, turned himself in to the
authorities. Family members indicated that Stacy and Williams had a history of arguing, which had previously led to him leaving the home. He was also the father of Williams' youngest child, who was present in the home at the time of the shooting but was unharmed. Stacy reportedly left the scene with his and Williams' uninjured child after the incident.
Law enforcement responded to the apartment after receiving a call about a death. Inside, they discovered the bodies of Nashae Williams and her two daughters in the front room. Witnesses at the apartment complex reported hearing gunshots and seeing Stacy running from the residence.
Stacy was subsequently charged with three counts of capital murder. Following a trial, he was convicted on all three counts and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for each count, in addition to a fifteen-year enhancement for the use of a firearm. His conviction and sentence were later upheld on appeal.
