In the autumn of 2016, the community of Forrest City, Arkansas, was unsettled by the violent death of Diane Winters Turner, a 50-year-old Black/African American woman. On October 6th, officers were dispatched to her home following reports of a shooting. Inside, they discovered Turner, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
