On an Easter Sunday in Little Rock, Arkansas, a violent encounter cut short the life of 40-year-old Joshua Loy. The male victim, who was Caucasian, was found in the front yard of a residence in the 11100 block of David O. Dodd Road on the afternoon of April 1, 2018. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body and was in critical condition when law enforcement and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene around 5:38 p.m.
Rushed to a local hospital, Loy succumbed to his
injuries shortly after his arrival. The shooting marked the 12th homicide in Little Rock that year. As homicide detectives began their investigation, they interviewed witnesses who were present at the time of the incident. Information gathered at the scene quickly pointed to a single suspect.
Based on the witness accounts, police identified 53-year-old Michael Wood, also of Little Rock, as the individual responsible for the shooting. Wood was subsequently located and taken into custody. He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Joshua Loy's death.
