In the pre-dawn hours of an August morning in Little Rock, Arkansas, violence shattered the quiet of a residential circle. On August 12, 2023, just after 3:30 a.m., police officers were dispatched to #3 Richsmith Circle following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered two young victims who had been struck by gunfire. One of the victims was 16-year-old Damarian Williams, a male, who was found with apparent gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services responded to the
scene, but Williams's injuries proved to be fatal, and he succumbed to them right there. The second individual, also a juvenile, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. In the immediate aftermath, homicide detectives were called to the scene to begin their investigation. They canvassed the area, searching for any potential witnesses and video surveillance that might shed light on the tragic events that had unfolded. The Pulaski County Coroner's office later transported Williams's body to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy as his next of kin were notified of the devastating loss.
The investigation into the shooting continued for nearly two years. Then, on June 3, 2025, a significant development occurred in the case. Law enforcement took 19-year-old Jacarree Bass of Little Rock into custody. Bass was subsequently charged with Capital Murder, First Degree Battery, and a Terroristic Act in connection with the incident that resulted in the death of Damarian Williams and the injury of another youth. The investigation remains ongoing.
