On a Tuesday evening in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the sound of multiple gunshots shattered the night on February 26, 2019. When police officers arrived at the 3700 block of Camden Road around 9:30 p.m., they discovered a red passenger car that had rolled to a stop just east of the initial scene. Inside the vehicle, they found 22-year-old Amanda Lee and a male companion, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported both individuals to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Tragically, Amanda Lee succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The male victim, whose identity was not publicly released, was reported to be in stable condition. The preliminary investigation indicated that the shooting occurred while the car was parked in a driveway between two residences on Camden Road.
After the shots were fired, the car drifted down the street before being located by the responding officers. The individual or individuals responsible for the shooting fled the area immediately following the incident. In the initial reports following the homicide, law enforcement officials had not publicly identified any suspects, and no arrests had been made in connection with the fatal shooting. The case was noted as the fourth homicide in the city of Pine Bluff for that year.
