On August 1, 2019, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Little Rock police responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 8900 block of Merrivale Drive. Upon arrival, officers found 30-year-old Gary Maxwell deceased from a gunshot wound. His girlfriend, a 34-year-old woman, informed authorities that she had accidentally shot Maxwell.
