In the autumn of 2019, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening calm on Palo Alto Drive in Little Rock, Arkansas, leaving a man for dead in the middle of the street. The victim was 31-year-old Christopher Little, a male resident of the city. On the evening of September 26, neighbors reported hearing a heated confrontation between several men, a dispute that tragically escalated to the sound of three distinct gunshots.
When the echoes of the violence faded, Little was discovered lying in the street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by responding authorities.
Witnesses to the preceding altercation described a chaotic scene, with several individuals seen fleeing the area immediately after the shots were fired. One neighbor, startled by the noise while in his kitchen, looked outside to see Christopher Little's body but saw no one else in the immediate vicinity. The day following the deadly shooting, the Little Rock Police Department made an arrest in connection with the case. On September 27, 2019, 20-year-old Marcus Lane Ervin Jr. was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder. He was subsequently booked into the Pulaski County jail.
