In the early evening of November 12, 2020, a dedicated police officer, Travis Cental Wallace, a 41-year-old male, was tragically killed in the line of duty in West Helena, Arkansas. A five-year veteran of the Helena-West Helena Police Department, Officer Wallace was actively seeking a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that had occurred a week prior. The search led him to the Delta Inn Motel on U.S. Highway 49, where he spotted the suspect in a sport utility vehicle.
