In the early morning hours of July 7, 2021, the sound of what some residents mistook for fireworks echoed through the end of Omega Street in Eldorado, Arkansas. The reality, however, was far more grim. Responding to a call at approximately 2 a.m., officers from the El Dorado Police Department discovered 21-year-old Jacoby 'Lil Coby' Jawan Edwards, a Black male, lying unresponsive in the street. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
