On August 13, 2021, at approximately 12:17 p.m., Jefferson County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to reports of a shooting near Elkins Road and Minton Road, west of White Hall, Arkansas. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 28-year-old Ricky L. Brown of Sheridan, Arkansas, lying by the roadside with an apparent gunshot wound. Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley pronounced Brown dead at the scene, and his body was subsequently sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
