On a summer evening in Little Rock, Arkansas, the life of 22-year-old Kendrick Sisa was tragically cut short. A Black male, Sisa was fatally shot on July 16, 2021, in the parking lot of the Dave & Buster's restaurant located on Bass Pro Parkway. The incident unfolded around 5:30 p.m., a time when many would be enjoying a meal or entertainment, shattering the ordinary atmosphere with the sound of gunfire.

Responding to the reports of the shooting, Little Rock police officers arrived to find a grim scene. Sisa was discovered inside a tan Ford Taurus, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response and medical attention provided at the scene, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead. The initial investigation launched by the Little Rock Police Department painted a picture of a brazen attack, prompting an immediate search for the perpetrator.

In the days that followed, detectives worked to piece together the events leading to Sisa's death. Their investigation led them to identify a suspect, and nearly a month after the shooting, an arrest was made. On August 12, 2021, U.S. Marshals apprehended 22-year-old Torrence Tillman in Decatur, Georgia. Tillman was subsequently charged with capital murder in connection with Kendrick Sisa's death. Authorities alleged that the killing was a premeditated act, stating that Tillman had waited for about an hour in the parking lot before ambushing Sisa. Following his arrest, Tillman was held awaiting extradition back to Arkansas to face the serious charges against him. In December of 2021, a judge set his bail at $1 million.
