On a Tuesday evening in May, the life of a young woman was tragically cut short in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Twenty-one-year-old Jordan Robinson, a Black female from Little Rock, was found inside a vehicle on the evening of May 17, 2022, in the 5500 block of Springvale Road. She had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities who responded to a call about the shooting at approximately 10:30 p.m.
The initial investigation by the North Little Rock
Police Department quickly determined that the actual shooting had occurred at a different location, 4500 Lakeshore Drive. After being shot, Robinson was transported by vehicle to Springvale Road, where she was ultimately discovered by first responders. The case was immediately treated as a homicide, and detectives began the work of piecing together the events that led to her death.
Within two days, the investigation led to the identification of a suspect. On May 19, 2022, at 11:55 p.m., police arrested 22-year-old Jordan Deshawn Shavers of North Little Rock in connection with the fatal shooting. Authorities indicated that this was an isolated incident and that the victim and suspect were known to each other. Shavers was subsequently charged with First Degree Murder and was held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility without bond.
