In the early morning hours of June 3, 2022, a sense of unease settled over a neighborhood in Forrest City, Arkansas. Brandon Norris, a Black/African American male, was standing outside his home on Laughrun Street with another person shortly before 2 a.m. The quiet of the night was shattered when a vehicle approached, and shots were fired from within, striking Norris. The incident proved to be fatal, leaving a community to grapple with the sudden and violent loss.
