In the early morning hours of Independence Day in 2022, the life of Titus Deshaun Moton, a 24-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in Little Rock, Arkansas. The incident unfolded at the Big Country Chateau Apartments located on Colonel Glenn Road. Little Rock Police Department officers were already present at the apartment complex for an unrelated matter when the sound of gunshots pierced the air at approximately 2:15 a.m.

The officers rushed to the courtyard of the complex, where they discovered Moton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate medical attention he received, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. In the ensuing chaos, another victim, a woman named Brenda Anderson, was found near the entrance of the complex. She had sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Homicide detectives began an immediate investigation, canvassing the area and speaking with several individuals who were present at the time of the shooting. Witnesses were taken to the Major Crimes Division to provide their statements. The investigation quickly led to a person of interest, and just two days after the fatal shooting, on July 6, 2022, an arrest was made. Jamarion Holmes, who was 18 years old at the time, was taken into custody in connection with Moton's death. He was subsequently charged with first-degree murder.
