On July 11, 2005, in Omaha, Nebraska, 5-year-old Lasandra 'Precious' Coleman tragically lost her life when a bullet was fired through the back window of a car near 29th and Patrick streets. Despite immediate community outcry and the offer of a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, the case remained unsolved for years.
In 2014, nearly nine years after the incident, Omaha detectives renewed their efforts to solve the case, hoping that someone would come forward with crucial
details. They believed that recent arrests in another case might encourage individuals with information about Lasandra's death to speak up. Lasandra's grandfather, Odie Coleman, expressed his enduring grief and desire for closure, stating, 'I'm hoping that one of these days they let me know something. It would take care of some of the misery, but it's not going to bring Tootie back, you know.'
As of December 2024, there have been no arrests or identified suspects in connection with Lasandra Coleman's death. The case remains open, and law enforcement continues to seek any information that could lead to an arrest.
