On a cold January evening in Omaha, Nebraska, the life of 42-year-old Laura Pierce was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence. On January 2, 2009, while working her shift as an assistant manager at a Kwik Shop, two individuals entered the store with the intention of committing a robbery.
