In the winter of 1993, the vibrant music scene of Tempe, Arizona, was struck by a profound loss with the death of Douglas Hopkins, a gifted musician and the creative force behind the Gin Blossoms. Hopkins, a 32-year-old male, had been grappling with a decade-long battle against severe depression and alcoholism, demons that would ultimately lead to his untimely end.
