On November 28, 2024, 27-year-old Devin Lavalais was fatally shot during a gathering at a residence in the 600 block of Potomac Street on San Antonio's East Side. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day, when a group had been congregating at the home since the previous evening. As one individual was departing, he unexpectedly opened fire, resulting in multiple casualties.
