Marcos Villegas-Martinez, a 33-year-old Hispanic man, tragically died on March 17, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas. He was fatally shot during a fight that broke out at a wedding reception held at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The fight began between Marcos and Juan Vicente Flores, 33, who was the brother-in-law of the groom's sister.
Security escorted the men outside, and Flores got into his truck with a friend. According to police, Flores began shooting through his passenger window at Marcos' friend, and when Marcos reached in through the driver-side window to grab the gun, Flores turned his attention to him and shot him. Marcos was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition but unfortunately passed away on the way.
Following the incident, Juan Vicente Flores was arrested and later indicted by a Bexar County grand jury on charges of first-degree murder. The case is pending in the 187th District Court.
