Eighteen-year-old John Kelson Jr. was left at Chippenham Hospital by an unidentified driver who quickly departed the scene. Richmond Police detectives launched a homicide investigation and determined that the fatal
shooting had occurred in the 3400 block of Walmsley Boulevard. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, and authorities have been actively seeking information from the public to piece together the events of that tragic night. The individual who transported Kelson to the hospital has not been identified, and their connection to the incident is a key part of the ongoing investigation.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of John Kelson Jr., and no suspects have been publicly named. Kelson, known to some as 'Lil John,' was a student at George Wythe High School and worked at a local Popeye's. He is remembered by his family for his love of fishing, video games, and spending time with his loved ones.
