In the spring of 2014, the life of Andre Tyree Rhone, a 26-year-old Black man from Richmond, Virginia, was tragically cut short. Known affectionately as 'WHOA' to his friends and family, Andre was a beloved figure in his community. On May 1, 2014, he was found murdered, becoming one of the 42 homicide victims in the city that year. His death was a shock to those who knew him, a vibrant young man whose life was taken by an act of gun violence.
