On December 26, 2024, at approximately 1:27 a.m., 39-year-old Devaughan Leon Bell was fatally shot during a domestic dispute at his residence in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Officers from the Elizabeth City Police Department responded to reports of a gunshot victim at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, where Bell had been transported. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
