On December 8, 2024, 60-year-old Richard Fluegel Sr. of Irondequoit, New York, was reported missing after failing to return home as expected and missing a scheduled flight the following morning. The Irondequoit Police Department initiated a search, which led to the discovery of his vehicle in a parking lot in the Village of Dansville on December 9. Concerned for his safety, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office joined the investigation to locate Fluegel Sr.
