On August 19, 2023, 25-year-old Desmond J. Zimmerman, known in the community as "Popout SG," was fatally shot near the intersection of 4th and Niagara Street in Niagara Falls, New York, close to the 3rd Street Tourist District. Following the incident, both Zimmerman and another individual involved transported themselves to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
