In the early evening of November 23, 2024, a wave of violence struck the community of Indianola, Mississippi, claiming the life of 18-year-old Ivory Jackson. A Black/African American male and a recent student at Gentry High School, Jackson was remembered for his energetic and humorous personality. The fatal incident occurred just before 7 p.m. near Hoover Street, where Jackson sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
