On December 6, 2024, at approximately 9:25 p.m., officers from the Prince George's County Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 6200 block of Surrey Square Lane in District Heights, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered two men, 24-year-old Vernon Bond III and 28-year-old Jonathan Jamal Williams, both from Washington, D.C., suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot. Despite immediate medical attention, both men were pronounced dead shortly after officers arrived.
