Leo Addison, a 39-year-old male, was fatally shot on the evening of Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in Prince George's County, Maryland. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a gas station located in the 7600 block of Marlboro Pike in Forestville.
According to preliminary investigations, Addison was involved in an argument with a 16-year-old male from Laurel. It is not believed that the two individuals knew each other prior to the altercation.
The verbal dispute escalated, culminating in the teenager allegedly firing a handgun at Addison. A Prince George's County Police sergeant, who was in the vicinity of Marlboro Pike and Forestville Road at the time, heard the gunshot and witnessed the suspect firing the weapon.
The officer promptly intervened as the teenage suspect attempted to flee the scene. The officer was able to apprehend the suspect and recover the handgun allegedly used in the shooting. Emergency services were dispatched, and Addison was transported to a nearby hospital for his injuries. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead a short time later.
The 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody and has since been charged as an adult with first-degree murder and other related charges. He is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
