In the quiet town of Greer, South Carolina, a friendship forged in middle school came to a tragic and abrupt end. Raelan Cole Hamilton, a 21-year-old Black man, lost his life on September 23, 2022, during what was meant to be a competitive game between friends. Hamilton and his longtime friend, James Marcus Turner, were both gun enthusiasts and often engaged in 'quick draw' competitions to see who had the faster hand.
