On the evening of September 15, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting incident in the 8400 block of Old Hickory Trail, near Rosy's Food Mart in Southwest Dallas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old WaTerrion Javon-Turcel Evans seated in the driver's seat of a vehicle, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Evans was pronounced dead at the scene.
