In the late afternoon of January 30, 2017, tragedy struck at a gas station in District Heights, Maryland, ending the life of 20-year-old Carrington Daye Jr.. The young man, a resident of South Hilmar Circle in District Heights, was discovered inside the gas station located in the 3200 block of Walters Lane, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Despite the prompt response of patrol officers around 4:40 p.m., Daye was pronounced dead at the scene.
