A Christmas day dispute in Kentwood, Louisiana, escalated to a fatal shooting, resulting in the death of 28-year-old Deshawn D. Roberts of Osyka, Mississippi. The incident occurred on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, outside the 4-Way Quick Stop convenience store on Avenue E.

Authorities reported that Roberts was engaged in an argument with another man, identified as Demarcus Blount, inside the store. The confrontation moved outside, at which point both men were said to have drawn firearms. ...
