On December 18, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., a tragic incident occurred in the 1100 block of North Warren Street in Gary, Indiana. Officers responding to reports of a shooting discovered a 69-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the front yard of the residence. A trail of blood led them inside, where they found his wife, 73-year-old Margaret Mary Sangerman, also suffering from gunshot wounds.
