On February 5, 2021, Kerry Anne Tucker Cousins, a 35-year-old female, was found deceased in a residence in Gary, Indiana, in what authorities have described as a domestic murder-suicide. The events unfolded in the 800 block of Fayette Street, where police were dispatched around 12:15 p.m. following a report of a domestic disturbance.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered the bodies of Kerry and a 23-year-old man, both of whom had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Tragically, three children were present in the home at the time of the incident but were found to be unharmed and were safely removed from the scene by law enforcement. The Lake County Coroner's Office pronounced both individuals dead at the scene.
The investigation into the deaths was handed over to the Metro Homicide Unit. While the female victim was identified as Kerry Tucker, authorities did not immediately release the name of the male decedent. The case has been classified by police as a domestic murder-suicide, indicating a belief that the man's death was self-inflicted after causing Tucker's death.
