On November 27, 2024, Carol Horne, aged 52, was found deceased in her home on Mystic Lane in Augusta, Georgia. She had been fatally shot, along with her husband, William Horne, aged 49. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene by the Richmond County Coroner's Office.
Authorities arrested Tony Horne, aged 46, at the scene. He is the brother of William Horne and was also a resident of the home. Tony Horne has a history of simple battery convictions in Richmond and Columbia counties
