Shirley Bush, a 65-year-old African American woman, was tragically shot in the head on March 24, 2022, outside her apartment at Singleton Apartments on Damascus Road in Augusta, Georgia. The incident occurred around 6:20 p.m., and she was pronounced dead at 7:15 p.m. by Coroner Mark Bowen. The suspect, Sarah Raine Preddy, a 25-year-old woman, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
